Australian Michael Matthews finished a classic ride to win the fourteenth phase of the Visit de France on Saturday, a sloping journey from Holy person Etienne to Mende, as Jonas Vingegaard held off reigning champ Tadej Pogacar to hold the yellow pullover.

Matthews went it alone from the day's breakaway with 51 kilometers to go, and in the wake of being gotten by a triplet of chasers, he went after again on the last rising, a fierce 3-km exertion at 10.2%.

Yet again Alberto Bettiol figured out how to get control of him over, just for Matthews to return and set out alone again to beat the Italian by 15 seconds.

Thibaut Pinot got back home third as the race's French riders keep on battling for their most memorable stage win this year.

The gathering of strong competitors was falling a long way behind, and Pogacar again went after in a bid to disrupt Vingegaard on the last trip, just for the Dane to follow effectively and go too far on the reigning champ's wheel.

Pogacar had attempted to make a splash previously, 10 kilometers into the 192.5-km stage, parting the pack with a speed increase on a short slope.

Vingegaard was momentarily caught behind yet immediately returned after a major exertion.

He actually drives Pogacar by two minutes and 22 seconds in general, with Geraint Thomas in the third spot, 2:43 off the speed.

The 2018 boss couldn't follow Pogacar and Vingegaard on the Cote de la Croix Neuve, however, restricted the harm, losing 17 seconds to the main team while expanding his lead over fourth-put Romain Bardet by nine seconds.

Sunday's fifteenth stage is a 202.5-km ride from Rodez to Carcassonne before a rest day.
